Turf (Sod) Grass Area Calculator

Keep in-mind: Because sod is shipped by weight, a pallet of turf grass covers approximately 400 to 450 square feet of lawn and varies by producer.  Contact your reseller or producer for the most accurate measure.  Add 5% to 10% extra for filling odd spaces and accuracy of the measurement.

Note: A standard piece of sod is approx. 18X24 inches. Big roll sod pieces are approx. 42 inches wide X the specified length.

Click on the shape below to open an area calculator.

Examples:

Shape A below is approximately a circle - you will need the radius (or diameter divided by 2) to calculate the area
Shape B below is approximately a rectangle or square - you will need the length and width to calculate the area
Shape C below is approximately a triangle - you will need the length and width to calculate the area

Total area in this case is equal to A+B+C.
